SAFETY RULES

For your own safety and that of your fellow-skaters it's important that you read the following information and instructions:
  1. Skate safe: the organisation stringly advises wearing a helmet, wrist-, knee- and elbowprotection. Wearing a skate-helmet is mandatory for events under guidance or competitions, except when explicitly stated that this does not hold for the event in question. Think of your own safety and that of others.
  2. Take care where you skate: be careful with thresholds, curbs and other obstacles. Don't overestimate your skating skills.
  3. It's dangerous to climb stairs or platforms with your skates on. Be smart and take off your skates when you have to do either.
  4. Do not throw trash, or other loose objects on the floor. Other skaters (or you yourself) could trip over them. There will be plenty of trashcans for you to throw your stuff in instead.
  5. Try not to get the floors wet. Be careful with any drinks or food you may carry.
  6. Be careful with drinking alcohol and skating: your reflexes become slower and your judgments can be impaired.
  7. Be careful with other visitors. Don't go too fast: others may not be as skillful as you on skates.
  8. Follow the instructions of the organisation and security personnel.
  9. Warn the first aid crew in case of an accident. You'll recognise them by their red shirts (with 'flying nurses' printed on them).
  10. Participation and visiting the Amsterdam Skate Festival 2004 is entirely at your own risk.
